Default sunroof noise

Hey guys,

i was wondering if anyone could offer some suggestions to my sunroof problem. well, its more a noise rather than a problem, which i hope that it doesnt develop into.
the noise almost sounds like its stuck or lacking lubrication. could this be the case? has anyone already experienced this prob, if so pls suggest course of action. by the way, the noise is present when tilting/untilting as well as when opening straight back. thnx

I don't know if this will work for you, but I bought some white lithium grease and applied it to the rails. Took care of my sunroof noise.

yeah, Audi have a 65K (I think) service that includes greasing up the rails of the sunroof. What you're hearing is lack of lube.

I had it to until I used some lithium grease (note: use white LITHIUM grease)

White lithium comes in a toothpaste like tube. just squeeze it out into the tracks. I was pretty liberal in applying it. And yes, be careful to not get it on the headliner or elsewhere. I don't know of any specific brands, what ever your auto part store sells is probably fine. I'll bet you could get some from theAudidealer for about 150 bucks. <IMG src=smileys/smiley16.gif border="0">
