the sunroof fix
I知 New to posting. But I知 not new to this site. I first want to thank every one of you that has helped me through my headache of owing my 96 a4 2.8 12v. (Only about a month) So when I fixed my sunroof problem I just hade to share it with you.
The problem: wont open/close properly, stuck in open mode. Hard clicking from motor (while not moving)
The solution: take off headliner and put aside, lower the entire sunroof track. Then take out sunroof visor. (I found it easy to do it in this step) this makes it easy to get to the hex screws that hold the sunroof glass off. (Sense it is stuck in the open mode). Then take off the 2 hex screws that hold motor on. Now slide the tracks to ether all the way closed or open (don稚 think it maters. I chose to close mine) then do the same on the sunroof dial for the motor (while they are apart). Now you can put the motor to the track and everything should be fine and dandy, just reinstall everything. Hope this helps you

The liner is not hard to take out. Just be careful first I took out all the screws at the front of the car (head light, visors, visor clips, and the side handles (all 4). then pull the 6 pillar trims off (there on there so pull hard and carefully) then slide back the fabric weather striping used to hold it in place then slid the hole peace through the trunk (this is tricky, try not to bend it)
And the reason I pulled mine down was to look at it better. Just resonantly bought the car and figured id save my self from taking it to the dealer and wasting 500 + $.
