Stroking a 2.8?

Stroking a 2.8?
Can it be done? And yes when I mean can I mean for a reasonable price not unlimited budget lol. Could a person potentially stroke it out to a 3.2? I mean ya I know I should just get a 1.8t but I like my 2.8 lol. I've heard a lot of stuff much of which I have no idea what is fact or fiction but could a 3.2 crank fit and the block be bored to fit the pistons? Just a thought but it would make for a nice car. Disregard tuning and all that.

Not sure about the cranks and rod length etc, but what is reasonable? You have to replace the crank and pistons as a min. Plus if you bore out the block for larger diam pistons, you are looking at about $1k just for that stuff. Add in labor and other things like gaskets, bolts, etc, you will be at $3k min for an undertermind amount of hp.

Well it does help that I have the hook ups! lol. I can get my car rotor's turned for 10 bux a piece at our local machine shop and that's half what they charge walk in customers. So idk what they would charge for machining stuff like that but im sure its reasonable. Gotta admit even if it only got me 225hp or so it would be a pretty sweet/ unique build. And if it was done all out w/ a PES G2 (still custom tuned) I bet it would be almost 330hp. I don't think this is a project I can undertake but would at least like to look into it.

Sounds like some of the discussions that have taken place in my garage. I have heard that the 3.0 crank could be used in our 2.8L engine though I don't know hard facts of whether or not it will fit. Seems a stroker 3.0 with a supercharger would be a nice piece under the hood

1.8t nevAr loses lol. Sorry Nic, I had to haha. I think if the right opportunity came along, meaning you had a 3.2 and a 2.8 fall in your lap if would be worth the time to see what parts can and cant be swapped. However, what about just a 3.2 swap?

If I was gonna just swap I'd just drop a 2.7t in lol. Or even a 4.2 but I don't like swaps lol.
