Default Stop.. Flex pipe time.. Du nuh nuh nuh, nuh nuh, nuh nuh..

2000 1.8t fwd AUTOMAGIC

The flex pipe has been leaky for a couple years now. Today I pulled out in front of a speeding grand cherokee and had to floor it on a very rough road. I don't think I've floored the audi in over a year because the previous leak was embarassing enough, and I've turned into a mpg snob...

Anyways.. Guned it and POP! BLaM! SLaM! WAHHH! The mesh has seperated around the pipe and it's soooo loud. The turbo is insanely loud which is half-cool, but the sputter and popping is not.

Can anyone recommend anything cheaper than THIS?

The flex pipe for a fwd automatic is different from any other variation (manual/auto w/awd.)

Figured ebay is as dirt cheap as it's gonna get but I've been surprised before. Buddy has a welder to touch up any shady ebay welder jobs on this.

Spanks

Couldn't you just buy a new flex piece, cut the old one of and weld the new one on? They're like $30 at autozone, probably, cheaper online somewhere. It doesn't save you a ton of money but it's still cheaper.

Good luck trying to get an $80 flex pipe to fit. Look for a used one or hit up an exhaust shop to weld in a new flex section.

Damn Jason, back from the dead huh? Do I need to mail you more Yuengling to get you back on here more often? I'd talk with Mike-2ptzero about A performance one or hit up a part-out. Probably your two best bets.

BTW we're holding another meet at the end of July. Spring meet kicked *** and summer should be better yet...

just get another one welded in. I did that when mine broke. Went to Midas and they cut it out and put another one in ... cost me like 80 bucks total.
