stock sport suspension to coilovers

stock sport suspension to coilovers
Could anyone tell me what the difference would be from a stock sport suspension converting to coilovers? I would be looking at adjustable coilovers, and would run a pretty aggressive setup. I don't care too much about ride quality, more about stiffness and responsiveness. Would there be a very noticeable change in handleing and stiffness as well as ride height if I am already running the sport suspension? I know sway bars are next, but just talking coilovers at the moment.

I have the same car as yours...98.5 Avant.
Went with the Bilstein PSS9's on 18x8's. The difference with handling, adjustability, etc. is night and day. Basically you can tune them to be as soft/hard, high/low as you like. Check out my album if you want to see what a fairly conservative drop looks like. Not sure on the numbers, but just asked my mechanic to make things fit right...did have to roll the front fenders.

Shoot me a PM if you want any other info.
Cheers,
