Stock Boost Preasure
#11
to and from work today i was boosting around 5. I was reading that the 01+ are fine to run with out the MAF so I JUST uninstalled the MAF, took the car out from not being run in a few hours and at first was boosting around 8-9 then as the engine and oil was warming up i was boosting around 10-11. so my first question is as the engine warms up will I boost more and second does this sound like a MAF issue? If so should I clean it or just replace it?

the thing is you cant just run without an maf. im surprised your car boosted that much without on in it. what happens is that when the maf is unplugged, the ecu reverts to pretermined timing/fueling to prevent the engine from burning up. however, since 01's have map sensors and wideband, running without an maf is a little easier. however, it still needs to be present for the car to run properly.
if you are going to do anything with the maf, dont clean it. replace it. cleaning it wont last long. regardless of the pming we have done, buying used maf's, i think, is a great idea. brand new ones cost a ton, and dont buy anything besides a genuine bosch

I just looked up the MAF for your AWM 1.8 engine, it's 06A906461LX and runs 134.07 for this remanufactured unit. Plus a core of 25.00 but you get that back once I get your old one. You pay the shipping from me to you of about 10.00, plus whatever it costs you to send me your old one. Once we have the old one we will credit you back the 25.00 providing it's a good core. We have one in stock too. Thanks, Jeff.
