Supposed to take some today as I had the chance to drive the car locally. It got dark way too fast and I didn't bring a tripod.

I'm gonna aim for tomorrow or the weekend hopefully. I just haven't had the time to go out and shoot as much as I wanted to.

Ok, so I'm trying to glean as much knowledge from you two, especially adeleic, about low. I hope to snag some nice H&Rs soon, but who knows. Basically, I want to get low low low as I can reasonably go. I'm really digging that S4's stance, but like 2.8 said, its poking just a tad too much. Here's what has me worried now:

35 offset will rub when lowered!? Do spacers correct this?
80k tires going to **** after 4k on VMaxx!? **** me I cant afford that.
Rocks flickin up and scratching the **** out of my fenders? I drive gravel roads almost daily, I can't have that!
I understand the concept of rolling fenders and I really want to, but thats expensive. I dunno, i guess I'm just realizing how expensive getting "truly" low is. You can just buy some junk coils, slam it and drive it till it breaks, but thats not really low. Thats not getting low and getting it right, getting it functioning. Fucntion<Form to an extent, I can tolerate some annoyances, like slowing for bumps, but this is my daily ya know?

What does anyone recommend? I know this is really broad, but I'm legitimately worried now that getting a drop is going to be financial suicide. Basically, hit me with some knowledge or some advice/wisdom.

This thread has been jacked.

Do you have between $800-$1500 to spend?

...No. :/ I'm entering a contest. Winner gets H&R coils ($1200 i think) and some ContiSport Pro Contact DWs. Thats where I hope to get the coils from. If not, then I wont be low for quite some time.
A man with a nearly 200k mile audi, and a girlfriend to boot, does not amass $800-$1500 on Albertson's paychecks.

IMO, lose the gf, haha I'm kidding.

Good luck with the contest, what is it?

I don't really have any suggestions for you for a less expensive option, maybe someone else does.

I have conti extreme contact dws on the way to my house and a set of eibachs and bilsteins sitting in my garage, hopefully they'll be installed on this week! (I have the factory sport suspension on my car, so it sits lower than stock, like an S4. I don't know if it will fit your car or what condition and how much life they have on them until I get them off, but maybe it's an option).

I have to agree with jmgrande, lose the girlfriend! Just kidding!
Anyway, you're not jacking the thread at all. This is what the thread is dedicated for.

Based on the "research" I've done and my "experience" (I don't actually own an Audi ), I don't think 35 offset will rub. This will also really be based on the width of the wheels. If you're talking 8.5 inches - 9 inches, you should be fine. Although I'm not sure if you're talking about rubbing with the brakes since you mentioned spacers in there but if you're talking fenders, 9 inches or less with 35 offset will not rub with the right tires.

As for how long the tires last, generally any tires with any suspension system wouldn't last as long as they would when your car is slammed and running negative camber. If you're only decently low (not slammed), you might be able to correct this with the an alignment but they still wouldn't last as long as they should.

I've been running poke in the rear on my imaginary Audi and I have not yet found any scratches from rocks and such. The only ones I had were the "gangstaaa marks" I got from rubbing the tires to the rear fenders as my car was sitting way too low.

Our cars actually come with the fenders rolled in the rear so if you do decide on rolling them, you only need the fronts done. Not a lot of shops are willing to do this as they think it's a lot of hassle with customer's satisfactions and liability issues but you can generally get this done at $40-50 a fender. There's also a way of renting these rollers or even asking the local guys who had done it before to do it for you for some lunch or dinner on you.

In general, lowering your car isn't really that expensive but there are risks and consequences you're gonna have to take. One of the biggest is breaking your oil pan (which is what I'm mostly worry about).

Best of luck winning those coilovers. H&R's are awesome!
