spinning tires w/ BT
Hey there - i have a couple questions i was talking to my friend about, and we couldnt decide what was correct...
when you chirp / spin the tires in an a4/s4 when launching do you spin all 4, or just 3, or 2?
also - with an aggressive tune on a gt2871r BT and strong clutch, can you spin the tires from a stop at all?
anyone have vid's of this? (or any BT a4 peeling out)

yes you one of AF;s gurus tom ritt had a BT A4 and had a video where he spun the tires. also yes when doing a lauch all 4 wheels spin. need proof look at chirs's video of his S4 on nogaroblue.com or jaybquicks s4 from JHM.

depends on the conditions. I think the front diff is open. Center is torsen. I think the rear might be torsen but I can't remember for sure. Open diffs can sometimes spin 2 but don't count on it. Torsen requires both outputs to have some drag, though even if there's no traction, the car should compensate by applying the brake where the wheel's slipping so the torsen sees it as a load and can then multiply that torque to its other output.

i don't think it's always 4 wheel spin. it depends on the contact point of the tire with the ground and the state that patch of tire is in. you could have one wheel on sand and the other 3 on asphalt and it would only spin the one on sand.
