yes it is plug and plug and no other mods are needed for the 2.8. the chip really smooths out the power band and gives you much more lower end torque. even though the gains are small, the power is used more efficiently thus making it feel more powerful.

cragman, try out some water wetter. it rly helps keep your engine cool

Cool, glad to hear it. I live just north of Austin in the hill country. The elevation ranges from 7-900 above sea level. I was unaware that elevation could play a significant role. I am sure I will be happy either way. It will be a good reward for finishing the last of my organic chem sequence =)

Water wetter? Is that that royal purple brand coolant additive stuff? I vaguely remember hearing that name before, but I cant remember where, on what product or what the application is...

Higher elevation involves less air density, making fewer oxygen diatoms available for the engine to combust. The whole point of aftermarket intakes, turbo chargers and bigger cylinders is to get as much air as possible into the engine for the computer to register that more fuel is needed to maintain the proper fuel/air ratio for a complete combustion sequence, thus giving more power. Higher elevations have less oxygen readily available as it is, so tuning mods don't make as noticeable of a difference as they do in places like where you are but as hiwords said, the improved lower end torque and smoothed out power band make a better use of the power you had before as well as the small gain you get from the chip to make it feel overall more powerful.

Yup, the electronic speed limiter, also known as a governor. Ours are set to shut off the fuel delivery system at 130 mph, a tuning chip removes that

I don't mind, no, but I am curious as to why real names vs our usernames?
