I did not realize that this flashing primarily only provides an extra kick to the turbo models. Will there be a noticeable difference in a 2.8 5 speed? I am thinking that for $135 it would be hard to go wrong. The flash I had done in my 03 f150 provided a huge kick over stock. it was amazing.

If other mods existed, sure you could get them, but the chip is pretty plug and play, nothing else is required to run it on the 2.8, at least as far as I've been told. And the gains are probably a lot less than they claim, I'm not expecting to see much more than 12hp and maybe 15ft/lbs, I'm in it mainly for the improved throttle response and removal of the ESL, the minute amount of extra power is just a bonus.
I'm sure if I lived at a lower elevation in a cooler climate, the 20/20 figure might apply more accurately, but where I live, I'm at just under 5000 feet and summers register temps of 95+ for about 4 months of the year (not as bad as places like phoenix I know, but still pretty bad and all the more adverse of an affect on engine performance at this elevation) so this stage 1 tune doesn't do much for my car purely because of the elevation and temperature so the improved throttle response is going to be more of a benefit to me than the extra couple of ponies, but for that price, it's still worth it.
