He suggests everybody gives him a call to schedule each tuning.

Default Stage 1 or Stage 2?

I just got off the phone with Speedtuning but am still undecided on what stage tune to go with. I have an early 1999 A4 Avant Quattro 1.8T with 70k miles(completely stock). I plan on keeping the car for a few years so I'm looking for a tune that would be relatively reliable and also be decent for daily driving. The person I spoke with a Speedtuning recommended the stage 2 because of my elevation (3000 ft), but wasn't very clear on the differences between the different tunes. Anybody have any reccomendations? Anyone with Speedtuning software care to chime in?

Go with the most aggresive tune. It will be basicaly on par with GIAC and APR which are ~1.3 bar. There is really no point in going with anything else. Their "stage 1" tune power curve is more flat but very steady where the "stage 2" sorta blows it's wad and then flattens out sort of sharply up top. It's very comparable to GIAC in my 2000... And at least $200 cheaper.

Also, I'm almost certain that I'll be parting the 97 out. I'm open to offers for the Speedtuning ECU. Figure the cost of the chip in with the ECU. I'm not sure what a chipped ECU goes for. If no one is interested I'll post in the classifieds.
