Default speedo needle stopped moving

ok well my cel stopped coming on at startup, so i pulled the gauge cluster and opened it up (seal was previously broken) i found out buld died... so i replace bulb... but i also took a can of air and blew out old dust and such, lifted the needles out and blew inside there too...

when i put it all back together and turned car on.. speedo needle said i was doing 25 at idle... so i took it back apart and adjusted it to 0... turned car back on and awesome... or so i thought... now it says zero no matter how fast i go lol... is there any way to fix this?

Get VAG-COM and make an output test on Instruments to see if you didn't brake the stepper motor. You can also recalibrate the needles because on one of the output tests all the needles should be in the standard positions like the coolant needle and fuel needle in the center of the gauge. If the speedo's position is not correct then move it with your finger. I am sorry but my car doesn't have miles so maybe someone else can tell you the correct position.

The other way around is to take the car for a ride, guess the speed, and move the needle while driving )

i have a cluster that would work but u would have to wire up a connector its the newer style with the big grey connector instead of the smaller (white?) one.
