So Was Wondering About This.....

There isn't a single A4 1.8t that pushed their K03 harder seeing that I made 200hp with it and ran low 14's back in 2001. For 2 straight years I pushed the K03 every weekend at the drag strip only missing 2 weekends each year and putting nearly 90k miles on that turbo in those 24 months and that was with no turbo timer. Even when I took that turbo off it was still in perfect condition and later on sold it to a friend which then ran it for a good long time without any issues.
I have been pushing the limits of the 1.8t for 12+ years now making up to 650+whp or over 830hp at the crank and haven't had 1 CHRA fail on me during that time all done with no turbo timer.
Like I said these cars do not need a turbo timer, it is just a gimmick/toy.

Coolant at running temp and cool down is just some off boost driving since the turbo will cool down pretty quickly. People are just afraid that the oil inside the CHRA is going to coke and that rarely happens on the K03.

Thanks for the help. I believe you for sure....my turbo spools up nice and I have just to replace the CV Axles in the front and will be a solid motor. I know that I just want a nice alarm for my car and well Viper has a built in turbo timer.....should I just get a normal Viper alarm without the bells and whistles on it?
