So Audi of America called me today...
So as some of you may have learned I got in a wreck with my A4 a couple weeks back, well I was so impressed with the outcome (meaning yes the car was totaled~see pics~ but I walked away with nothing more than a sore shoulder from the seatbelt) that I e-mailed AOA. I do things like that when something impresses me and the A4 did in it's safety. ok so long story short they called me last week and we've played phone tag till today. they wanted to know all the details, make sure I was ok, and see if there was anything they could help with. The main reason they called was because they wanted to get some "what went right" details for future designs. they asked quetions about my maintance, etc and when I told her I just put a new motor in the car the weekend prior she said " we might be able to do something about that" since I took the time and effort to keep the car on the road and in good shape instead of junking it. she's awaiting pics of the car and will be calling me back later this week for more details and to see "if they can help with anything" (which i really just think means help me find an audi dealership and maybe like a $50 off purchase of a new car or some crap like that)
on a side note.. to whoever told me ins would screw me on the apprasal amount.. thank you. they offered me $3,000 and I more or less laughed at them. I argued the fact and this morning I hired a car appraisor(SP?) to check out the car. He says it's worth $4,500-$5,000 and he's going to try and get me $4,500 minimum. what really bugs me is they won't cover my damaged subs saying they weren't "properly" bolted to the FRAME with "some sort of bracket system" they were secured, using some brackets that held it back and down, no bolts directly in the box (didn't want to ruin the box for when I sold it) ergg anyways, here's some pics.. enjoy the carnage......

Condolences on your loss, I hope you find a suitable replacement. Just out of curiosity, it looks like the windshield on the passenger's side has a crack -- was that caused by the airbag, or was it there before? Or is it not there now and my eyes are lying to me?

Yes the windshield is cracked, that was just from the.wreck. and the car won't be mine when this is done. but the buyback is 500 so.if you all want parts and can get enough people together i can make a deal... after all it has a fresh rebuilt(and warrantied) motor and test pipe under the.hood.......

That's pretty cool that you wrote them just to say, "Hey, thanks for saving my life in a 13 y/o car," and they called you back... If erasmmuss' theory holds true, maybe you can get a new one at 45% off. I'm interested to see what the end result is, please keep us informed.
