just some more food for thought here, but having the lightest wheel/tire combo possible isnt exactly ideal. Since you are using your weight savings as a performance bias, I would look into how inertia effects a cars performance. reducing your rolling resistance is nice, but you can go too light and it will actually hinder your performance. expecially with big fat 15" tires. theres a reason you dont see people on the track with small wheels and giant side walls.
again. just my .02. throw some pictures up of the car with the new wheels

and large sidewalls on a race wont be ideal either like you said, there is too much flex in the wall, when **** stretches, **** will break.
if you can find a rim thats the same size and lighter, that would be more ideal.
why not tell the op get some 15 inch rim with 205/35 tires. it'll make him think hes accelerating faster. which he would, but its marginally noticeable if that.
also last thing, changing rim/tire diameter effectively changes the final drive ratio. and messes with the speed sensor.

all that work for 26# - why not just take the spare tire and tools out of the car
on a side note, I'm happy to know that when you checked the wheel/tire weight, you had the correct air pressure...

Not any constellation....thats my monkey on the right. 15" BBS Audi meshies from an old *** GT if im not mistaken. Car had sport suspension or some **** on it when i got it. Tires are 195/55-15. Not bad oberall look and stance in my opinion. Could be lower. Wheels could be bigger. But the homegrown budget kicks *** when pulled off properly!! Its all a personal taste

wait, but if you only had 28 lbs of air instead of 35 lbs you would save some more weight.............
