I'm going to try and see if it needs a fill up but needed some verification. I did a search and found a few write-ups on how to change your transmission fluid. One write-up shows the fill plug is near the drain plug, on botton of the pan. The other write-up shows the fill plug is near the side of the drive shaft or transmission gears. Which one is it? THANKS!

sounds like a transmission problem. check the fluid level, if its not low or excessively brown, your probly gona need a rebuild.

update: I drove to autozone today to purchase an obd2 reader and the car was driving the exact same way i described above. When i was headed back home...I was at a red light and decided to push on the gas from the start a little bit harder... it was real slow at first and gaining speed but then i saw black smoke coming out of the exhaust and the car just took off....*like nothing was ever wrong with it* so it's not the transmission right? And here are the codes i got from my car:

P0118 engine coolant temp circuit high input
P0441 evap emission control system purge flow fault
P0422 main catalyst below threshold (bank 1)
What does it mean? How to fix it?

p0441 is most likely the purge regulator valve or could be just not screwing the gas cap down all the way. p0422 is usually bad cat, which explains the horrible performance. clear the codes and see which ones come back.
