slight knocking sound sounds like from the front?

Could this be the cv joints or control arms? any idea how to distinguish which?

I'm saving up money right now to get my wheel bearings and these jobs done soon.

Bad CV joints will sound worse during sharp low speed turns - wheel cranked all the way left and/or right as when doing donuts in parking lots.

jack your car up so the wheel can move freely.. check for any movement in the arms when wiggling from 9 and 3. might have to get down a bit to check the lowers.

Bad control arms make knocking sounds when going over rough terrain while bad cv joints make knocking sounds when turning the wheels, even if driving on good terrain.
