Hey guys my 2000 2.8 v6 started sounding really bad on startups when its been sitting all night it has been cold but shouldnt be making that noise reguardless.
So heres the description of the noise when the car begins to startup the revs fly up for a second to about 1500 rpm and in the process it sounds like crap! I have no idea cause after that second its fine can someone help me please???....

 

Does it sound like a vacuum cleaner? Does the sound last for 30 seconds or so and then when it goes away, the rpms drop down to where they ought to be? If so, it's your secondary air pump and there are tons of threads about it.

no literally last 2 seconds at the most...its just the initial like movement the engine makes....but yeah it kindof does sound like a vaccum cleaner but doesnt last 30 seconds...

 

Sometimes my car sounds like it's belching on a cold start, but it's just the SAP hoses being loose and vibrating.

No. Have you scanned the car, though? Not all codes will throw a CEL.

A better description of the sound you hear might be helpful to other people on the forum. I'm pretty much tapped out after the SAP suggestion.
