Shut off problem
Hello Guyz! I'm new here!
My car issues:
I had issues with my Audi A4 2.8L Quattro last night. I turned off the ignition the normal way (turning the key anticlockwise to the end), but to my surprise the car wont turn off and was running. I tried to manually remove the battery leads after opening the hood, only for the car to keep running (BIG WEIRD SURPRISE). The car was running after I had removed the keys, supposedly turning off the ignition. Though, the car wont drive with the keys off but it was running.
What I did:
I had to shut it off by trying to start it by putting back the keys to the start position, in which case it shut off because the battery leads were disconnected. Reconnecting the battery leads just turns on the lights that would normally be on before the start occurs.
I find this so strange. Any leads or help please?

You need to remove the airbag and steering wheel. No big deal but some people are nervous about working with airbags. Once the wheel and column covers are off, there's one harness and two small set screws and the switch is out.
