Omg... so I decided I'd install my ss last night, at 11pm. Figured ehh.... shouldn't take more than 2 hours i'll be done in time to get enough sleep before work... WRONG!

This thing was a pain in the *** to install.
The removal was not too bad, a few awkward bolts here and there nothing crazy. probably a 3/10

Putting it together I'd say was a 2/10 on difficulty but due to a lack of specialty tools it became a 6/10. I didnt have a little clip streching tool so it took a good 20 mins to put this clip, sucked..

Then putting it back in KILLED!
I got the rails and everything back in no problem. but lining up the shift link with the part of the actual shifter took probably 45 mins!!!?

Maybe I'm just special but this was friggin ridiculous! I did the head gasket on an old toyota pickup and THAT was almost easier.....

All in all, I do like the way the shifter feels now. Though it was a pain in the ******* *** to install, it is convenient and very enjoyable on a DD car.

All I have to say about this damn shifter is that if youre going to put one in, either take the whole center council top off, or dedicate an afternoon. I started at 11pm and didnt finish till 330am. The actual knowledge this takes to do and what all it requires intellectually I'd say makes this job a 4/10 difficulty. But the patience and frustration bumps it up easily to a 6/10

 

You're not special bro, took me just about as much time, struggle and frustration to do mine. That linkage was tedious indeed, definitely not a job to start in the middle of the night.

 

Lol well next i get to tackle the test pipe.. the next problem i need to address is the fact that NOBODY sells the 2.5" gasket for the one side lol.. i managed to get the 3" no problem but the other is unattainable
