Really wish I could help but I bring nothing to the table except for a free bump. Yet another reason I only drive manuals, no computer telling me what gears I can and can't use. GL

quick question on the same topic...i had the same issue on my 99.0 1.8t TIP, came back with multi-function switch codes, had them cleared, car is doing fine now. question is; if i disconnect the switch(to clean/dilectric grease the connections) while the car is off, it shouldn't put it back into limp mode once disconnected and hooked back up, (assuming that was the problem...) correct?

if the car is off when its disconnected, and its put back together before the car is turned on- no it should not throw a code.

sounds good, i've been drivin all day, no limp mode, so i'm hoping it may have been moisture in the sensor...
