Sedan Vs. Avant Coilovers

Sedan Vs. Avant Coilovers
H&R part numbers for their standard coilovers are:
29591-3 for Sedans
29591-4 for Avants
which can lower the front between 1.6" and 2.5", and the rear 1.3" and 2.0".
H&R also makes a set of Ultra-low coilovers, but only have a sedan part number:
50011-1
which can lower the front between 2.0" and 3.0", and the rear 2.0" and 3.0".
I called H&R, and was told that they wouldn't interchange, but didn't recieve an answer as to why, besides that the part numbers are different.
Besides spring rates and possibly valving rates, will the 2 interchange?

RE: Sedan Vs. Avant Coilovers
Greater weight on the rear of the Avant may have necessitated different suspension geometry, and therefore maybe slightly different parts back there, which would interfere with the mounting of the springs. I don't know, but other than spring strength, that's the only thing I can think of.

RE: Sedan Vs. Avant Coilovers
i doubt they're interchangeable cause of the avants extra weight. but if Koni doesn't distinguish between the two, i would give them a call instead and ask if their interchangeable, you might get a clearer answer
