yea, i mean i dont think ill find myself using seafoam again, just due to the aggressive nature of it. as for the spark plugs, the second i pulled the first one out i knew they hadnt been changed in too long so they were due for a replacement anyway.

The 1.8T engine is notorious for eating spark plugs for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, especially if you're chipped. It's proabably a good idea to change them ever few oil changes (10K miles). Some people change them every oil change, but that may be a bit excessive.
I love Seafoam, and I plan to give my car another good full treatment when I get home. She's been sitting awhile, and I know she's going to apprciate it.
As for it being bad for the cat? I dunno, but then again, in my car, I don't really care
