Default Is this the same thing?

I've finally pin pointed my transmission problem (no reverse, 4th or 5th gears, and all gears lit on the dash) to a faulty Transmission Range switch (or sensor). I also had a mechanic refer to it as a Transmission Multi Function Switch. And shokan refered to it as the Neutral Safety Switch. All all these names the same thing?

And if so... is there a place other than shokan I should try to get it? Dealership quoted me $550, shokan quoted me $240.

Let me know Thanks!

It's a 97 A4 1.8 Turbo no quatrro (just fyi)

Yes the Neutral Safety Switch is the same as the Multi Function Switch.
Should look like this:

PERFECT! Is there another place other than shokan.com that sells refurbished ones? I can't afford the near $600 (just for the part) that the stealership wants. Shokan quoted me around $240 for a refurb.... any other website or stores I should check?

good find, alex! Thats a good price for sure. I will say that Shokan is actually fairly expensive for used/rebuilt parts.
