I called into my local dealership with this same problem. Blown fuse, safe mode for a symphony radio. The douche of a receptionist told me she could get me the code if I had the vin number and the radio code. I didn't have the keys to get the radio code out, so I spent the $10 to buy them. Got the code and called back in. Then the *** nugget says I need to bring in my car because they have to hook it up to a computer. I told her to blow me and I am buying an aftermarket radio for the price they want. An hours worth of labor for 15 seconds of work. This is the biggest load of **** I have ever seen in my life...

Here is how you get the code for a symphony radio stuck in "safe":

1. Hold pscan and rdbs
2. release when 1000 appears on screen
3. hold button 1 and scan button ----> first digit will appear
4. hold button 2 and scan button ----> second digit will appear
5. hold button 3 and scan button ----> third digit will appear
6. hold button 4 and scan button ----> fourth digit will appear
7. hold pscan and rdbs button down until the screen shows safe again and release - radio freq should appear right after that [you might need to give it 10 - 15s]

 

It did sound too good to be the truth.
Holding number button and scan button does absolutely nothing. The numbers keep on scrolling.
