the S4 is all around a better car than the Z28. I have owned 2 LT1 Trans-Am's and an LS1 Trans-Am. The LS1 is a cheap way to put down incredible power numbers, but that's where it ends. So, if he is tight on cash and realisticly can't afford the upkeep of the S4, then I would go with the Z28. If he can afford the S4, then that is the best choice.

It's a V6 it's not that quick if it was a V8 and then he would have something to work with but it would never have the class the Audi as and the chances are on a wet day trying to keep up with the S4 he will wipe out.
I owned a 1989 Trans AM GTA 5.7i v8 (fully loaded) which in a straight line was bloody quick but try and take it round a corner and you would quickly have probs and in the wet well Siht you just didn’t want to go there kick down used to make the **** twitch in the wet.
Also ask him how much the Z28will be worth in 1 years time.
