I'm having the same problem, 2001 a4 1.8t. I was in the process of replacing the coil pack and the connector disintegrated when i tried to replace it. Anyone know a place other than the stealership where i can get the connector or harness? Thanks, Nick

Swapped out the coil pack from cyl 1 to 2 and the spark plug to cyl 3 just to be sure. I was thinking about swapping the injector from 1 to 4, but that looked a little more complicated than I wanted to get into for now. Now time to gas up and go for a joy ride (like i need an excuse to go for a drive)...
Oh, niko, sorry about that connector problem. I tried looking around, and found nothing. And if you can't replace the connector, the whole wiring harness looks like a real PITA!

Yep, definately the coil pack, switched it to cyl 2 and sure enough, the code followed. But, since I had nothing better to do, I ripped out the cat and played around with it a little... wink wink...

Also learned that the car won't start without the lock module in it. I figured I'd leave it out until I got the repair parts. I learned my lesson real quick with that one!

A trip down memory lane! Damn I sound like such a noob in this thread (It was my first thread I ever started). I'm surprised I didn't get flamed for asking what I now know is such a common problem.

I've really come a long way, over 1,100 posts, and I know more about my Audi now than any other car I've owned!

but they're my threads, and I'm kinda fond of them. It reminds me to not flame the noobs with their noob questions, because I was one of them myself not too long ago
