Was doing some cleaning today and found this. Not sure what it is or what it does. Any ideas?

Thanks

It's the breather hose (crankcase ventilation). Not the cheapest thing considering what it's made of. But I'd replace it.

Really appreciate it. Sure is a spendy piece.. the old one feels about as sturdy as a graham cracker.

i know its a cheap fix but it does work really well as long as you dont have to touch the tube again. if you can come up with 25mm shrink tubing you can put it all back together and it looks nice so it doesn't give the appearance of a duct tape fix. i know those p.o.s. tubes are stupid expensive for what they are. oh and when i say its ok as long as you dont touch it. its not the shrink tubing that will break. the stupid little tube with crack somewhere else.

Replace it with silicone hose and be done with it.

Do you know of any kits to convert to silicone? Where have you found the best source for buying it by the foot?

There aren't any kits per se, but by the foot you can replace all the lines. Www.siliconehose.com sells it reasonably.
