Ripped CV boot

Ripped CV boot
I just recently did a brake fluid change (which was actually pretty easy!) and noticed that both front outer CV boots had ripped and spun grease in both wheel wells. My question is - is this something I need to fix ASAP? I haven't noticed any noises or anything strange going on with the way my car is driving. Also, is it better to replace the whole axle assembly or just the boot?

Audi (as well as ECS and PureMS) sell CV boot repair kits. Replace the boot and re-grease them now, or buy an entire axle later. They will go for some time without grease and a torn boot, but if you wait, heat and dirt will quickly destroy the bearings.

I just spent about an hour looking for a split boot repair kit that will fit our cars but could not find anything that I would be sure of fitting so I guess the front comes apart. GL with yours too, I am ordering a bunch of parts from autohausaz.com, they have better prices than I have seen anywhere else and free shipping when you spend over $50.

If you could show me where to find a split boot or quick boot whatever the ones that dont require taking the axle apart that would be great. Everything that I found at purems was oem replacement.

Ok, that is the one that I ordered, but there are apparently CV boot kits out there that you glue together and they are supposed to be decent. If I could find one that fit my car I was going to buy it and a real CV boot in case it was crap but I just ordered OEM after I looked to see that it isnt hard to do.
