Default Reviews on A8 big break kit.

I'm thinking about putting the A8 bbk on my car. I'm sure there ar a bunch of people that have done the same, I'm just looking for some reviews the good and or bad. Also if anyone knows what year the caliper mount and rotor are from. Thanks a bunch also would like to know if it necessary to change pads.

It is a nice improvement over the stock setup - the tt carriers increase the radius where the force is applied which results in more torque and better stopping power. I think ECS sells a complete kit.

Agreed. And yes, replace the pads - don't put new rotors on and reuse the pads you had. I got Hawk ceramics along with my A8 kit and the combo is great.

I love my BBK. My '96 stops better than my wife's '07.

You'd be hard pressed to find any negative comments on an OEM BBK kit. The fact that the kit is so cheap ($249.95 @ ECS), you'd be a fool not to buy it.

Waste unless your current brakes overheat (or you'll be tracking the car which will likely overheat them) or you can't lock your tires (well, make the ABS activate). If you can lock your tires (make ABS activate) then your brakes are powerful enough.

Disagreed - my opinion was that the oem brakes were not powerful enough for the car, not because of track time or speed potential, but just because of the weight of the car. The A8 kit is vastly superior to the original brakes in performance. It's intended for a car that outweighs the A4 by the best part of a thousand pounds, so it performs better without breaking a sweat, even in spirited non-race driving. On the track you'd want to go bigger than these but for the street they're great. Add in that they cost only a little more than what stock brakes run, and it's a no-brainer. 99% of the time a true bbk like StopTech would be overkill, even on a stage 3 S4, but a moderate upgrade at this kind of pricing hardly even needs to be debated.

guess my next question is, does anyone know what year a8 the rotors are from? And what year TT the caliper bracket is out of? Weird question I know, but i can get the parts at lower then list pricing, so it would be wonderful.
