Replacing Wiper Motor..(how big of a pain is it?)
My wiper motor on my 99.5 is dead (the wipers started moving slower and slower and now no longer move at all). I was wondering if anyone on here has experience with replacing there motor, and how big of a pain in the *** it is?
If anyone can provide a link to a quality guide (pictures!) I would appreciate it.
And, is this the right type of motor I want?

Thanks.

It's a PITA, but it's a straightforward job. Put a line of tape where the wipers meet the windshield in park. Pull the whole wiper trans with the motor attached. One word of caution: use a puller on the wiper arms. DO NOT pry them off. You'll snap the studs or crack the windshield. Good luck!

my wipers stopped working too and i did that diy and the motor still worked they were just really stuck at the very least follow the diy and plug the motor back in w/o the assembly to see if it still works no sense spending money if u dont have to just yet

^ i agree, i did the same thing. besides, the link on ebay is the motor itself, when the problem is that the LINKAGES get seized up. if you buy that motor, it will not fix your problem at all. you need to take it all apart and clean it up like in that write-up, and then determine if you need a new motor

Thanks for the guide.
I found I had to loosen my ecu and free up the housing by removing two bolts inside it. might be because my car is RHD but either way I couldnt seem to find the space without doing so.
I unfortunately broke one of the arms when trying to free it off, but managed to fix it.
Thanks again.
