Replacing the Timing Belt

Replacing the Timing Belt
I have a problem while I have been replacing the timing belt; I have dismantled the front end and have taken the old belt off but cannot get the new one on. How am I supposed to do it? Has anyone any ideas?

Make sure the timing belt tensioner is rotated clockwise to allow a bit of slack to get the belt on. Also, you have to be sure the three toothed sprockets that run along the timing belt are both lined up and in sync with the teeth. I had to do this the other day and it involved rotating some of the sprockets just slightly to get the teeth to line up with the belt. Once they were lined up it was very easy to slip the belt on.

Yeah you should have all the tensioners off first, then install the hydraulic tensioner/damper fully, the tensioning roller loosely, put the belt on, and tension it properly. Check the DIYs for more info.
