Default Replacing my clutch

I just bought a 2000 a4 for $4900 about 2 months ago and already the clutch has gone out. Im 16 and dont know too much about cars yet (so please bear with me a little bit) but Im more than willing to learn and hope to be able to work on them myself in the future. It is the car that I learned to drive stick on but i picked it up pretty quickly and cant imagine that I am the reason that the clutch needs replaced. I got it checked out and the mechanic said I do infact need a new clutch, flywheel, and that I have an engine leak as well, but that he was not willing to work on it. Im not willing to sell it and despite realizing the financial commitment ive made by purchasing an audi i do plan to get it fixed. My dad's willing to front me the money but, Im going to have to pay him back. So I need to find a different garage. I was wondering if anybody knew of any good garages in the southern New Hampshire area? Would it be worth it to buy an aftermarket clutch (Audi B5 A4 Quattro 1.8T > Drivetrain > Clutch > ES#5485 RA4 Clutch Conversion Kit - Stage 1 - RA4S1-STEEL) and have the garage install it? Any other general tips or information that would be helpful in my future is be greatly appretiated. Thanks a lot.

If u provide parts. U are still looking at around 1200-1600 in labor, which is why I just did it myself. I think it comes up as like an11 hour job. If u go aftermarket with the clutch I would do away with the dual mass flywheel as well, makes a huge difference. It makes a little more noise because u losses a ton if mass which doesn't dampen as much sound, but its not noticable really. Good luck!

I was quoted $650 for a full clutch job just labor by a performance shop here on Long Island, NY. I think Im going to do it myself when mine goes out though.

That's a good deal considering how much work it is ^

Its a great deal considering that and the quality of the shop that is doing it. But I do just about all my own work so I will probably do it myself. It depends on when it goes..

having replaced my clutch not too long ago, its an easy job. Had it done in about 11hrs. (after a 24 pack and a lot of bullshitting) lol

If the shop quotes you for less then a grand take it.
