Default Replaced ignition coil, car still no worky!!!

Car ran rough after filling up with 91 octane. Replaced ignition pack #2 because when I looked I found that cylinder #2 was not igniting. Even after replacing it the cylinder is still not igniting. I swapped the neck that connects the coil to the spark plugs, as well as replaced the spark plugs, and do not know what to check next. If anyone has any ideas or input, kindly reply.....PLEASE!

the ignition control unit you can find it on ecstuning for 120 for the huco or 175 for the bosch.my car all of a sudden cylinder 2 misfired and when i switched out the spark plugs it worked for a day. someone on here suggested the coil pack harness which i replaced and that didnt work and i found on the passat forums that when the ignition control unit goes out it causes cylinder 2 to misfire. replaced mine with the huco and fixed it right away. my idle is a little shaky, barely noticable idk if its because i used the huco instead of the bosch or what but im fine with it until it goes again. heres a link to them http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/...mp;engine=1.8T
idk if you can get it somewhere else cheaper might wanna look around?

What Engine...?

DId yu erase the DTC after replacing the coil pack?

If you have a pre-2001 1.8T, you may need an ICM as stated. It's usually #3 that goes, but #2 is also a symptom.

And I assume you gapped the spark plugs when you replaced them...

Sorry Tweaked, it's a 1.8T quattro. Got my hands on a code reader today and it says the following "P0302. Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected" . Not to sure what P0302 reprisents? But the cylinder 2 misfire is obvious... I deleted the code, restarted the car and same symptoms followed by the cel light comin back on. Pluged the code reader back in andsame code "P0302 Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected" I also unpluged the battery for ten min.... stillno changes other then the fact that my stereo is in safe mode nowSHIT.

What about a bad injector? no fuel = no fire. could try moving that around to see if the code follows.

P0302 can be caused by a bad ignition control module,
bad #2 spark plug or cylinder 2 ignition coil.

Yep, as stated.

gflow: P0302 is the standard OBDII code for cylinder #2 misfire. That's it. Doesn't tell you what causes it, just that it is happening.

Since you've already replaced the coil pack, you are likely looking at an ICM if the plugs and injectors are good.
