once you get that off, then open the glovebox itself, and pop the pins out that keep it from falling completely down (they should just pull out with some force) and there will be a bunch of random bolts all over the dash frame, look around for all of those that look like they would be connected to the glovebox, and remove them. they are for the most part very hard to get at, but with some perseverance it will come off.
i had to do this to get at the A/C drain that was plugged which flooded the footwells of my car

Hey I'm having the same problem with my audi where there is water leaking into the floorboard. How did you fix your problem?
