Reliable Audi?

Reliable Audi?
Hey Guys, new here to the forum. I've always had my eye on the B5 Audi's. I need a reliable commuter and I was wondering if I'm barking up the wrong tree. If I'm not, which would be the model of choice, 1.8t or 2.8? If you could fill me in or point me to where this info is i'd appreciate it. Thanks.

RE: Reliable Audi?
If you want a reliable and boring commuter, get a Honda or Toyota. I'm happy in my Audi driving 150 miles per day.
My Audi now has 196K miles on it and hasn't failed to start every day. It is a relatively high maintenance car however and parts are more expensive than a Japanese car. The 1.8 gets better mileage than the 2.8, so you may consider the cost of gas.

RE: Reliable Audi?
If you are capable of doing the maintenance yourself, and sticking to it, its not too expensive and extremely reliable, either one. 2.8 has less that can go wrong, but the fun factor of the 1.8 is well worth it. Its reliable if you take care of it. Its no Honda, but oh so much more fun behind the wheel.
