Regarding transmission oil change...

so.. if I decide to change transmission fluid , just change fluid not the filter you mean?

OH... the rear differential gear oil was TERRIBELE PLUS FOAMY DIGusting!!

Did it smell good too?

No, the argument is that it's just better to leave it rather than change anything. If you do change the fluid, you will want to change the filter and clean the magnets.

Mine was pretty brown, and I got the pickle smell but it seemed a bit more like that was mixed with kangaroo ****, but YMMV.

Having not dealt with many kangaroos I am unsure of their aroma. Perhaps yours got filled with oil made in Australia...

In any event, now you've got the peace of mind that there is some nice clean oil in there.
