To refinish my messed up rims or junk em?

I had my set of wheels damaged when I had new tires put on. The majority of the damage is on the lip. I think JB weld would be alittle extreme but why wont bondo work? I plan on breaking the bead and fixing the damage and then painting the wheels with Wurth silver.
