rear subframe cracked, what a suprise, advise?
Alright well the car had two cracks in the rear subframe by the camber adjustment bolts. I got it welded, and got an alignment. Yesterday I hear a strange noise.. jack up my rear end to find out the rear anti sway bar has cracked two pieces of thin metal off my subframe! I did not know the car had the infomous rear anti sway bar of death! I assume this is an aftermarket anti sway bar. Anyways is it possible for me to drive around for a while without the rear sway bar attached to the rear subframe? Should I remove the rear anti sway altogether? Also it looks like the lateral links may break off too or just be loose as that whole thin part of metal that holds that on is breaking completely off. So without people telling me I'm stupid for asking, is it possible to drive for a while until I get a new subframe? Where can I get a cheapo used rear subframe? Can I weld this again if I put the factory anti sway in? Thank you for any help/advise!

Not sure where you are located , sounds like the rust belt. But i would have it replaced before going any further. It is extremely dangerous to have a subframe continue to crack like that. I would see if you could get one from a salvage yard located in a rust free environment like down south.

If you're using an aftermarket rear sway bar, you should fabricate or buy some brackets to brace the sway bar mounts like these.
Depending on how extensive the damage is, I would just weld it up and brace the sway bar mounts. It sounds like the parts that are sheering off are just the tabs that hang down for the sway bar mounts? While you're welding them up you may just want to weld some angle iron or tubing as a gusset to keep it from sheering again.
