Default Really slow to accelerate, but no CEL

Hey guys...my car is all the sudden accelerating really slowly. It doesn't give a CEL, so what on earth could it be? I made a 300 mile round trip one day and it seemed fine. The very next day when I got in it to run an errand, it seemed like I was pulling a boat with it.

I've not had good luck with mass airflow sensors in the past. The original one went out, and I replaced it with a remanufactured one from O'Reilly auto parts. That one lasted all of 6 months and then it went bad. I'm running on the second one from O'Reilly. Now the car is running sluggish again, but it isn't stuttering like it did when the other two went out.

Could it be the MAF again?

Check for a stuck caliper too, especially a rear one. Seems like the e-brake likes to bind or seize sometimes on these cars.

Vacuum leak is possible. Run codes = get ECU scanned for fault codes.

Can they do that at Autozone? Or is that something that has to be done specifically with a VAG?

Autozone's scanner will only look for engine DTC's,nothing else. vag-com cables, along with vag-com software are way more thorough and will scan the entire car, plus allows you to program your B5 to do things that are hidden, within the factory settings that lay dorment.
