Re-Painting S4 Wheels

Re-Painting S4 Wheels
I picked up a second set of S4 wheels and they are in serious need of a new paint job. I have seen people use Wurth paint before with great outcomes so I bought some along with clear and tried to repaint them for $100 instead of spending $150/wheel getting them professionally done.
I started on just one wheel and have had a horrible time with it. I sanded down the wheel with 320 grit and fixed some curb rash with a Dremel and some more sanding so for 90% of the wheel it was just the original clear/paint scuffed with 320 grit with some spots down to just primer and the edges had been Dremeled down to bare metal.
I rinsed the wheel with water and cleaned it with some of that prep cleaner in an aerosol can and then rinsed it off with water and laid it out in the sun to dry. I then put on 3 light~medium coats of grey primer about 10mins apart. The primer seemed kind of rough so I wet sanded the wheel with 600 grit and rinsed it off with just water then let it dry in the sun. Then I sprayed 3 coats of Wurth silver wheel paint 10mins apart and it came out very grainy. It reminds me a lot of fine beach sand. I wet sanded with 2000 and then rinsed off with water again before letting it dry. I then put on 3 coats of Wurth clear coat 10mins apart. The color is quite dark in comparison to the factory color and no where near as glossy.
The end result is a kind of blotchy paint that doesn't match the factory color at all. Its 3-4 shades darker. I've seen several jobs that people have used Wurth on and it always turns out looking great so I'm wondering what I've done wrong?
