Yeah the color is forest green, the dealer said that the 1996 Audi a4 2.8 12v is what brought Audi to the American market, he says I should hold onto it and restore it. But I don't know. And another question, is it even possible to swap out my factory seats with the VW r32 seats?

That's great - it's always cool seeing more A4s being modded (provided they're done tastefully). Just focus on aesthetics, handling, looks, and braking. Don't waste your time trying to make power - you'll have the same cost-to-HP ratio as you would trying to modify an espresso maker for HP.

The dealer sounds like he didn't know his **** at all... the 1996 A4 didn't "bring Audi to the American market", it revived the brand following years of dismal sales which were a result of the farcical "unintended accelleration" fap involving the Audi 5000.
The exhaust leak is probably a flex pipe; both of mine were pretty shredded. The flex pipe is attached to the cat, so if that's the case you'll have to replace the whole cat which is something like $200 each if I remember correctly.
As for the HID's, check out VVME or DDM Tuning for kits and be sure to upgrade to projector headlights - the DEPO 2-piece projectors with clear corners are probably your best bet (you can see what mine looked like in my sig pic). And please, for the love of all that is good in this world, do NOT paint a stripe on the thing.
