Rained in car overnight....
Well for some reason, sticking the key in the door failed to roll up my sunroof, and it rained for 2 hours overnight. It's been about 8 hours since it happened and the only thing i noticed was a puddle by the e brake... So what do I do? Will the car even start, and if so, will it be ok to drive? Is there anything in the floor that I need to be afraid of damaging? Its Texas, so the temps are in the 90s today already. the floor mats are damp, as well as the floor.

I've left my sunroof open in the rain 4 times. Yes 4. Don't judge me.
Incidentally, the car is no worse for the wear. I agree with Brie that you should try to vacuum/sponge/bale out as much water as you can, but I think you should be ok.

CCA4, I think you officially need a flood damage salvage title now!
Keegan, once you get the majority of the water out, keep the windows down as much as possible to let that Texas heat help evaporate what's left of the moisture...

I have a 1997 vw jetta 4 cyl 2.0,water from the AC leaked inside the car, from under the glove compartment on the passenger side, since then,i got the issue fix, something was blocking the vent, where the water from the AC flows but what i have now is water soaked carpet in the front and back passenger side and even some in the front driver side.
I vacummed and shampooed the floors as much as i could with all purpose Mean Green cleaner,i still get a mildew smell, that i can only attempt to cover up with Fabreeze. there is space beteen the car floor and the carpet,i can press the floor carpet with my hand and it goes in and out,so that means, there is water, trapped between the floor and the carpet, anyone know how to get ride of the mildew smell and the water under the carpet?
