would help if you gave any information whatsoever about the car or exactly what happened. for all i know you were driving a geo tracker and hit a man hole cover.

its a 2000 audi a4 1.8t quattro. i was driving on the highway and all of a sudden the rpms drop alittle and went back up then engine just turn off. i pulled over. i tried restarting the car and got nothing. it has oil and radio and all that turns on. when i turn the key u hear something trying to work or turn on. maybe its the starter noise but no kick to turn on.

take off the timing belt cover in the very front of the engine and take a look at the belt. did it snap? is it missing any teeth?
