Take the car to a qualified Audi/German car repair shop and have them look the car over.

this sounds stupid but ive never bought a car.. my last car was given to me and never really needed much maintenance.

Would i just tell him id like to have the car looked at by a mechanic and he could take it to the mechanic with me or what? I really don't want to buy something like this because it kinda seems to good to be true so id rather be sure its in good condition then assume because the guy seems genuinely nice. I mean the car is still a great price for what I'm going to get I just would love to know what I'm getting into.

any idea how i could find a euro mechanic shop? i see plenty of shops around town but they really dont scream luxury vehicle or have european knowledge

personally I've just google searched "Audi certified mechanics" or something of the sort with my location, and found a very reputable one near by.

The price is good, and I would likely go for it, but just make sure you know what you're getting into.

yeah the price is great, even if i gotta dump 2k more into it before i start doing any performance/cosmetic mods i don't think i could find a car thats moderately clean for that price.

so if im paying 2.3k and gotta spend another 1.5k ish to get stuff fixed im still getting a great car.

thanks for all the info im going to take a buddy of mine to look at whos a big vw enthusiast and works on hondas/acuras maybe he can give me a good idea of whats going on with the car

I looked at an 01 A4 that needed new wheel bearings, and it was very noticeable. Nice loud rubbing/groaning noise from the affected wheel. If you don't hear anything, odds are they don't need to be done right away. You have driven the car, right? Buying cars is like buying speakers -- you need to take them for a test drive and really listen.

Over the past 5 years I've put 100k on mine. Almost any car will be reliable if you keep up with it.

I have my 1999 Audi A6 for the past 11 years. First it was all cool, but after 5 or 6 years, I should have been smart to get rid of it. A lot of money you will be spending.
It is not worthy. I will never buy another AUDI, or another German car.
I will not recommend anyone to buy an AUDI unless you have enough money to waste.
Good luck...
