Question on tires...
Hey all, got a quick question on tires, been looking all over the web for this but haven't come across anything concrete and particular to me, so I'm hoping you guys could help me out.
By a random strike of luck I drove over a nail in my front passenger tire, I took the tire out to get it fixed and noticed a huge gash at the inner wall where it meets with the tread. So that tire is out, the other three still got some miles left but soon it will be time to replace all four of 'em.
I'm riding around with my donut but don't feel too safe doing this (and I miss the handling), I don't have the money to spare at the moment to buy a new set of tires so I've been hunting around locally for a used tire to patch the problem until I am able to save up. However, the only tire I found is 225/55/17, my tires are 225/45/17, do you guys think it'll be fine to drive around with this one tire on for a while (as in a month or two)? Could there be any adverse effects on the car? I read something about never going above 3-4% on the ratios of all the tires or it could damage the drive-train.
Any help will be appreciated, thanks in advance!

Tire ?? as well
duderseb, jumping on your tire thread...looking for the same kind of info. I just bought 4 used 195/60/r15 Hankook winter tires. The tires currently are 205/60/r15 and I'm wondering if I can leave my spare a 205/60/r15 when i put on these Hankook's and use it only when I have a flat....Thanks Palmer
