Default question about MAF

I have a 2001 Audi a4 1.8t the stock MAF when to crap so I replaced it. Found a deal on line for like I believe around 60-75$. Replaced it code went off but still ran like crap. I putting in my new n75 today and forgot to plug in the MAF and the car ran beatifully idle eccelerating everything.

So my question to you is why is this? Is the MAF i got a pos?

Looking forward to your help thanks!
Rick

Sounds like it to me. Are you sure the MAF you got was for the right engine code? AWM MAF sensors are pretty cheap on ECS, I've been running one for over a year with no issues.

Also does it matter how much you pay for a MAF?

Man, you guys can get new MAF sensors for so cheap... cheapest I have found mine anywhere is $165. Bought a used OEM one (for a spare) off Ebay for $25 shipped and it works, so I can't complain too much

You'd have to pay me more than I'm already making to get me to leave
