Question about Audi front bumper cover for 99.5 B5
I have a 1999.5 Audi A4 awd 1.8t and need to have the front bumper cover replaced. I found a used one for $230, but it is from a 2001 A4 awd 1.8t. (also as a side note, does the 2001 A4 B5 1.8t and 2.8 have the same bumper?) Will it work for my car? I assume it would as both are B5's but want to hear from you experts to make sure. (I searched and could not find the exact answer.)
Also, silly question about the bumper and bumper cover. Is the actual bumper the aluminum bar under the bumper cover and if so, if my bumper is not damaged, can I just get a bumper cover to go over it? (assuming the replacement use bumper cover is not damaged as well)
Sorry for the neophyte questions, just trying to save some money and get my Audi back to where it was before.
Thanks for your anticipated responses.

RE: Question about Audi front bumper cover for 99.5 B5
Any A4 bumper from 99.5 and newer should be the same, since they all incorporated the newer headlights and the foglights down low on the fascia. There may be a difference, but I wouldn't think so. The fog grille on the driver's side is a pass-through vent for feeding the intercooler, and the vent on the passenger side is just a grilled panel. But the covers themselves should be the same, I'd think. There's not much justification in having two different parts for something that achieves the exact same end on two cars. And yes, the fascia is the cover - the actual bumper is the bar.

Thanks for the quick response Jeremy. Finally going to get my bumper replaced. Took quite a bit of time to find a bumper cover locally. Did not want to pay for a bumper cover to be shipped to me. My Audi has been quite the eyesore with the busted bumper cover.
