Proud NEW owner of a 1998 A4 1.8T
Well I finally got one. Its old though, and has 170k, but lots have been replaced. As my friend and fellow Audi enthusiast said, "Congratulations! and my condolences." I have a Silver 1998 Audi A4. 1.8T Manual with Quattro. Turbo replaced at 90k, Trans replaced at 110k, but the flywheel was never resurfaced so I'm looking at a new clutch soon. (Southbend...?) New control arms, new tie-rod ends, new exhaust, new hoses. Belt and pump done 2k ago. Chrome Sonar projectors that have condensation. Brembo caliper upgrades. Lots of stuff. So what I need is a knowledge base. I want to know all of your opinions, all of your experiences and all of your do's and don'ts of the B5 A4. I originally wanted to get a white one and do black highlights (windows, rings, trim, wheels, etc) but now that I have a silver I'm not sure. I'm still thinking new rims (matte black RS4 reps? Machine faced? TSW Snettertons?) I'm thinking I want some lip and around 18s. Stock height and staying that way. What can I upgrade for suspension.
So pretty much, where should I go from here? I plan on chipping from GIAC. Techtonics turbo-back. and a 007 Forge DV. What else?

Oh for sure. Probably no spoiler, not even a lip. No body kit, not even s4 because I need the clearance. I plan on sending the ABS into ModuleMasters. $120 is much better than $670. Does anyone know any good Audi shops in the Portland area? I've so far delt with Matrix Integrated and Futurell Autowerks, both of which seemed alright, but I've only had a vehicle inspection to go off of. I plan on avoiding the local dealership at all costs. I certainly can't affor $900 for a timing belt change.
