Pre-99.5/Post-99.5 Trunk Badge Location Change?
I just noticed this. Hopefully someone will chime in and call me an idiot. Below are photos of a '98 a4 that I was looking into buying, and the '01 that I ended up buying. Was the location of the trunk emblems one of the changes that went along with the post-'99.5 update?

Headlights, side markers, side badges, tail lights, rear badge location, passenger mirror, rub strips, instrument cluster, center dash, cup-holders... there were a few changes

I think my car is the one that was in the works while they decided they were making the switch of the "facelift"... its a '98.. stamped in December.. it has the facelift tail lights, but the pre facelift trunk badges.. facelift interior (LED's on door for "alarm is armed" and emergency flashers button is the same style button as the rear defrost and fogs), but pre facelift dash cluster.. pre facelift headlights (of course) and pre facelift fenders and side markers.. but no pre facelift side emblem.. when I had my windows tinted.. they had to use stencils from the pre facelift and from the facelift to get it right.. mostly with the rear windshield.. I think they tried to use the pre face lift stencil that their computer program cut out but it was WAY off.. so then they moved to the quarter glass.. tried to use the facelift stencil and it was way off.. so had to use the pre facelift stencil.. WTF! I just wanted to share, I thought it was odd...
